
Transition Support Services focuses on ensuring that support and assistance are available for Soldiers and Family members moving to or arriving from another military duty station. Newcomer Orientation is offered weekly; all newly assigned personnel need to attend (Spouses are encouraged to attend). Soldiers/Families relocating to new duty stations have access to information to help them plan successful moves.

Guidance/Counseling: Extensive preparation and planning before the move, during the actual transfer and while settling; cultural adaptation services for bi-cultural Families
Adult Basic Education (ABE): Army Community Servive strives to assist adult learners in acquiring the knowledge to function effectively as a Family member, worker and lifelearner in a changing world. ABE classes focus on improvement of basic skills: reading, writing and math from non-literate to pre-college level, prepare for the GED exam, provide small group and individualized instruction and are and open to Military Family Members. for more information call (502) 624-6291/8391.
English as a Second Language (ESL): Meet other English language learners. Together we find courage to order meals in restaurants, ask for help, shop for clothes and food, understand the news, or do a job interview. You will learn new words and say them correctly. Citizenship and Immigration Assistance: The United States Citizenship and Immigration Service Louisville Field Office is available at ACS once a month, by appoinment only to Soldiers and Families seeking assistance with citizenship and immigration. Sponsorship Training: Sponsorship Training is available on line at
