What is the Blue Star Card Program?
The Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (Family and MWR) Blue Star Card Program is a Family and MWR discount and activity card for Spouses of combat deployed Soldiers. Why do we do it? Family and MWR recognize the sacrifices Families of deployed Soldiers make every day. We provide the Blue Star Card Program in appreciation of their selfless service to the Army Community and to demonstrate our commitment to providing quality programs and services for a quality life.

You may get your Blue Star Card by turning in your completed application form at the Fort Knox ITR Office, (located inside the Hansen Center at 1053 Spearhead Division Ave).   

The Blue Star Card Program includes:

• Everyday benefits, to give Spouses discounts at Family and MWR facilities
• Childcare benefits, to give families discounted childcare for certain recreation programs.
• Special events/activities to provide the opportunity for Family members of deployed Soldiers to have some fun while their Soldier is away

Everyday Cardholder Benefits include:

• FREE admission to the Louisville Zoo for Blue Star Card Holders (Discount child's tickets available at ITR)
• 15% discount on all stock golf merchandise @ Lindsey Golf Course
• 5% discount on the purchase on an annual golf pass
• 10% discount on combo meals @ Lindsey golf course (Monday-Friday only)
• Range Balls-Buy 1, Get 1 Free at Lindsey Golf course
• Free Starbuck's Coffee with the purchase of a coffee (small or medium only) @ Lindsey Golf Course 
• Choice of either Mozzarella stuffed breadsticks or chips and salsa with 2 paid dinner/lunch entrees @ Gallotta's Grill
• Free non-alcoholic beverage with the purchase of lunch or dinner entrée @ Gallotta's Grill
• Houston Lanes combo special Mon-Fri, 1100-1300, buy any combo meal and bowl for $1.50 per game

Blue Star Card Special Events & Activities
The Blue Star Card program offers many activities and events for Families. These activities are a great way to relieve some of the stress of deployment by having a little bit of fun. They also provide an atmosphere for the unique camaraderie and support that is only found in others who truly understand what it means to have a loved one deployed.

Each month there are several Family and MWR activities specifically for Blue Star Card holders and their Families to participate in. In addition to the regularly scheduled Blue Star Card events, card holders are also given special benefits at large Family and MWR events, such as reserved seating areas and discounted tickets. The following is an overview of a few of our upcoming Blue Star Card events and activities.

Bunco Night
This activity will be held monthly through July at The Leaders Club.

Special Events and Day Trips
There will be several trips conducted to give Blue Star Card holders the opportunity to tour the local area and many other sights including:

• Special seating and childcare for the Darryl Woorley concert at Eastman Amphitheatre on June 18 
• Sightseeing cruise on the Belle of Louisville in July
• Canoeing in Cave City in August
• Horseback riding and zip lining trip to Mammoth Cave in October

There will also be numerous Family and MWR special events where the Blue Star Card holder will receive additional discounts including:

• Bunco at the Leaders Club monthly
• Special seating for all Summer Concerts at Eastman Park
• FREE Pool Party at the Water Park on Sunday, June 26 for BSC members and kids
• Discounted tickets, special seating, and FREE childcare for Lynyrd Skynyrd/Doobie Brothers concert in August

Every Day Childcare Benefits included

• Free Hourly or Kids On Site (KOS) Care during mandatory deployment meetings
• Free Hourly or KOS Care for Family Readiness Group meetings up to 3 hrs
• Sixteen hours of free Respite Care per child per month starting 30 days before deployment and ending 90 days after return
• Hourly care fee $2.00 per child per hour rate for any hourly care beyond the 16 free Respite care hours
• Fees Reduced by 20% for regularly scheduled Full Day and Part Day Care
• Up to $300 credit for SKIES Classes per child
• Up to $100 credit for CYSS Team or Individual Sports per child

In addition to these great Childcare benefits we will be providing FREE Childcare on most Blue Star Card Programs. Made possible with sponsorship from Nolin RECC. This is a FREE program offered to spouses of deployed Soldiers. You can obtain a card by taking a copy of your orders to the ITR office located at Bldg 1053 Spearhead Div.
