Fort Knox Army Lodging has over 600 transient lodging rooms located in six standard guest room complexes throughout Fort Knox. Units are standard style effeciency apartments complete with queen-size beds, microwaves, cooking facilities, refrigerators, cable television, DVDs or VCRs, and free in-room internet access.

Guest Services include a fitness center, game room, and laundry areas. Roll away beds and portable cribs are available to guests on a first come, first serve basis. We also have rooms that are ADA compliant. When phoning in or utilizing our e-mail request form for your reservation, please inform the reservationist of your special needs.

Reservations:
Reservations are recommended. For reservations call DSN 464-3491, commercial (502)943-1000, e-mail knox.lodging@conus.army.mil. Reservations are accepted 120 days in advance for official travel (TDY or PCS orders). Unofficial travel which includes retirees, basic training family day and graduations are accepted 14 days in advance, (must either have a Military ID or be sponsored by a Service Member). Families attending Basic Training graduations or Family Days may reserve 14 days in advance of graduation or Family Day date, (Please make sure to bring your invitation to the graduation). Space is limited for unofficial travelers. Credit card guarantee is required for late arrivals.

Room Rates:
Rates are based on the actual facility available. Additional occupant charges of $5.00 may apply. Pets are permitted only for families on permanent change of duty station orders. A limited number of pet rooms are available. Pets must have health certificate to stay in lodging facility and there is a non-refundable $40.00 cleaning fee and a $6.00 daily pet fee.

Geographic Bachelors Quarters
Geographical Bachelors Quarters (DFMWR-GBQ) Bldg 6597 opened its doors on June 12, 1998 as a lodging facility for "geographical bachelors" assigned to Fort Knox, KY. In November 2009, Bldg 2601 was acquired by DFMWR which has doubled the amount of rooms available to geographical bachelors at this installation. Since reopening as the Geographical Bachelors Quarters, both facilities have successfully housed innumerable eligible personnel, providing a convenient, low cost housing alternative for many. The GBQ maintains a full roster of occupants as well as an extensive waiting list of personnel desiring to take advantage of quality, affordable housing.

The GBQ facilities (Bldg 6597 and Bldg 2601) collectively consists of 152 single-occupant rooms, fully furnished and complete with private bath and basic cable with HBO (at no additional cost). Wi-Fi is available in all rooms at a nominal cost to the occupant.  Bldg 6597 also maintains a laundry room with three commercial washers and dryers, a change machine, a commercial ice maker, and vending machines. Bldg 2601 maintains a laundry room located in the dayroom.

Each GBQ facility offers ample, well-lighted parking and has a building manager assigned to ensure that all building and resident's needs are met.

Both GBQ facilities, Bldg 6597 and Bldg 2601 are adequately furnished and will vary by facility.

AR 420-1 states that bona fide bachelors E1- E5 will be housed in UPH facilities (barracks), E6 and above off post, and that “Soldiers entitled to BAH at the “with dependant” rate, who are voluntarily separated from their family members, are not authorized assignment to UPH (PP) in the continental United States, Hawaii, and Alaska.”  As a result of this policy, Fort Knox does not offer barracks or bachelor quarters to geographical bachelors. Geographical Bachelors Quarters (DFMWR-GBQ), Bldg 6597 and Bldg 2601, are operated independently from installation barracks and permanent party housing and will house eligible bona fide geographical bachelors only.

1. If a soldier departs the GBQ and deploys to a combat zone and returns to Fort Knox, they will be placed at the top of the wait list upon arrival. (Priority 1) 

2. All other eligible personnel being assigned to Fort Knox will be placed on wait list in order of application. (Priority 2)

 

Advance requests for occupancy for the GBQ should be made in order to expedite the process upon arrival to Fort Knox and be placed on a wait list.
