Located just five minutes from the heart of Fort Knox, Camp Carlson Army Recreational Area spans 65 acres of natural beauty, with a 25 acre lake that Catfish, Bluegill, Crappie, and Bass call home. Camp Carlson is the perfect setting for an escape week, weekend, or day and is ideal for Unit, family and extended family outings.
Carlson Hall & Gazebo - Reservation Required
Constructed in the fall of 2007, this new facility will meet your family's entertainment needs. This large A-Frame structure will seat 175 people inside with two patios for extra seating outside. With a new modern kitchen, all events are made simple, from official functions to family reunions. The kitchen is equipped with two restaurant style refrigerators, a freezer, a ten burner stove with two ovens, a cold and hot steam line, and four microwaves.

Reservations: accepted up to 12 calendar months in advance from the the date required. A $200 deposit will secure your reservation with the balance due when you pick up the keys. A cleaning deposit of $300 is also required on the day of the event.
Family Cabins - Reservation Required
Camp Carlson has ten furnished Family Cabins equipped with a bathroom, refrigerator, stove, beds, kitchen table and chairs and a living room. Dishes, glasses, silverware, coffee maker, pots and pans are furnished by the campground. Weekday rental is $45, $55, and $65 nightly. Weekend rental is $55, $65, and $75 nightly. Save money with the special 5-Day Getaway: a Family Cabin for 5 nights only $180, $230, and $280. Guest are responsible for cleanup of their area. Guest must furnish their own linens (sheets, towels, blankets, wash rags, & pillows). Family cabins have satellite TV service. Sorry, no pets allowed.

Group Cabin - Reservation Required
Bunk beds are available for sleeping a total of 16 in our Group Cabin. The cost is only $5 per night, per person, with a minimum of 10 guests. This is the ideal place to bring a scout, church, or any other group. These cabins are located within easy walking distance of shower and bathroom facilities. Sorry, no pets allowed.

Tent Camping - Register upon arrival
Camp Carlson's rugged beauty is yours to enjoy in our Tent Camping area, along with the convenience of hot showers and laundry facilities. The very affordable rates are only $5 for a 1-3 person tent site and $8 for a 4-8 person tent site per night. Tent pads are gravel based 13"x15'. Each site has a grill, picnic table and fire ring.
1-3 Person: $5 Daily

Picnic & Playground Areas - Reservation Required
There are four Reserve Picnic Areas at Camp Carlson for your enjoyment. Water and electric is available at each site. All areas may be rented separately or together, depending on the size of your get-together. Areas 1, 2, and 3 may be rented daily for $25 each. Picnic Area 4 is the largest area with 2 double shelters and is located at the head of Carlson Lake. It can be rented for $50 daily. All 4 picnic areas have barbecue grills, shelters, volleyball courts, and horseshoe pits. Sporting equipment is provided upon request. All four Picnic Areas may be rented for $100 per day.

RV Sites - No Reservation Required - First Come/First Serve
Camp Carlson offers a total of 53 Recreational Vehicle Sites. Thirty-five sites have water, electric and sewer hookups, and are $17 nightly and $102 weekly. Eighteen sites have water and electric hookups and are $15 per night and $90 weekly. These sites are gravel pads located in well-shaded areas and are within walking distance of 24-hour laundry, shower, and bathroom facilities. Wireless internet service is available in the RV Park.
Reservations: accepted 3 calendar months in advance from the date required on water & electric sites only. Reserve online through WebTrac or by phone. Requires a fee equal to one day rental to reserve.

Stay Limit: RV & Tent sites have a stay limit of 90 consecutive days between 1 April and 30 September. Customers reaching 90 consecutive days must depart for 72 hours. Cabins and Travel Trailers have a stay limit of 30 consecutive days year round.
