Together We Can End Domestic Violence
The Fort Knox Family Advocacy Program, (FAP), provides services to prevent intimate partner violence and child abuse by improving family functioning, easing the kinds of stress that can contribute to abusive behavior and creating a community that is supportive of families. The prevention programs are designed to create community and command awareness of abuse, provide information of existing services, and provide specific education programs.
Victim Advocacy
The Victim Advocacy program provides support and assistance to individuals who are victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. Advocates provide crisis intervention, emotional support, safety planning, assistance obtaining protection orders, legal advocacy, information, and referrals to other helping agencies. Advocates are available 24/7 by calling (270) 352-8185.
New Parent Support Program (NPSP)
The first three years of life are critical in a child's physical, emotional, and intellectual development. Military life presents some unique parenting challenges that civilian families may not face, such as frequent deployments, long duty hours, moves to unfamiliar locations, and separation from extended families and friends. NPSP was developed to help military Families with young children to adapt to parenthood and to thrive as healthy Families no matter where their service may take them. The Fort Knox NPSP offers home visits and the following activities:
- Playgroups
- Mommy/Daddy Basic Training
- Infant Massage
- Infant Safety
