Getting Prepared, Staying Prepared
Families of active component and reserve component forces and emergency-essential civilians will receive family assistance and support services in the form of an Emergency Family Assistance Center (EFAC). It will be provided in support of military operations – deployment or mobilization upon the Garrison Commanders’ order. Mobilization and Deployment (MAD) will also support stability and support operations due to mass casualties, evacuation, natural disasters and acts of terror.
MAD supports the commanders’ Family Readiness Group (FRG) which provides activities and support encouraging self-sufficiency among its members by providing information, referral assistance and mutual support. OP R.E.A.D.Y. classes are conducted for volunteer positions within the FRG. Certificates of training are issued and an installation-wide FRG leaders’ data base is maintained in MAD. A roster of FRG meeting sites is available upon request.
Family Master Resilience Training (MRT), a part of Comprehensive Fitness Program is taught every month. This program will teach skills to make participants stronger by building their mental toughness as well as develop their ability to understand the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors of themselves and others. Self-awareness, Self-regulation, Optimism, Mental Agility, Strengths of Character, and Connection are the six MRT competencies.
MAD provides repatriation support to unaccompanied Family members being evacuated or on forced early return from an overseas area.
