Survivor Outreach Services:
- Facilitate support groups where Families and individulas can share feelings concerns, thoughts, resources, and information in a safe and understanding setting.
- Maintain personal contact with Survivor Families with phone calls, cards, and mailings.
- Offer on site professional financial counseling to assist Families in adjusting to their unique monetary circumstances following the loss of a loved one.
- Provide care for Survivor Families beyond what Casualty Officers and Unit Care Teams can offer.
- Act as liaison between the Survivor Family and their Soldier's unit for communications, contact, and information for special memorials and events.
- Parnter with military and other agencies and organizations to provide resources and programs such as grief camps for children, adult retreats, and other special events and bereavement materials.
- Help to train Family Readiness Groups, Care Teams, Caualty Assistance Officers, and Army Leadership about SOS and bereavement issues.
